Poems for Autumn

This week, we welcomed autumn with some friends by walking the one mile hiking trail at Ayr Mount, a local historic site.  The trail winds around the historic home, through fields dotted with majestic trees, into and out of the woods, and along the Eno River.  It’s an easy walk to do with children, and noticing how the trail changes from season to season is a lovely way to mark the shifting seasons.  We brought along poetry that celebrated autumn and had a beautiful time — I think you can just barely see the early signs of fall in some of the photos below.  As always, click any image to see a full-sized version.
